So, peoplie people.
I'm finally making a new beer after months of not-making-beerness. Excitement! Jubilation! Exhilaration! Exclamation point wordy thing!
So what am I making? Well after the failure-inducing use of an online beer recipe generator, I am determined to progress backwards to my old ways. Does that make sense to you? If it doesn't, well, shut up! Anyway, so I'm going to do a slight modification of my 4th beer recipe, Walter Ale, named after my Grandpop.
What type of beer is it? Well, it was an American IPA made with green tea, golden raisins, and honey. I know, I know, that sounds kind of... well... dumb. So, I am going to take out all three of those ingredients and replace them with brown sugar!
Recipe:
WYeast American Ale II
Cascade and Willamette hops
Grains: Vienna, Pilsner, a little Rye (Maybe some chocolate malt or cara red instead of pilsner?)
Light Brown Sugar
Light LME
Just trying to keep it simple this time! Any suggestions for a name? I might stick with Walter Ale. But please, for the love of gosh, no Barak Obama inspired names. Wednesday night will be Brew Night, and hopefully will include photo documentation for the blog!
