Beer creators and appreciators, I need some quick advice:
For the sake of my continuing education, could everyone please post a comment recommending a very malty brew? I feel inadequately equipped to convey my observations of a beer's taste due to my lack of knowing what exactly the malt taste is, so I suppose a malt-dominated beer would help figure it out.
Same request goes for alcohol - I'm pretty sure I can separate that from other tastes, but if anyone knows of a beer where that stands far away from the other flavors, I'd like to give it a try. I'm sure this will probably mean trying a really bad tasting beer, but if it helps me learn, it's worth it! Thanks!

Hmmmmmm... WELL SIR, if you want the malts then I say go in the direction of the barley wine. ALSO, since barley wines are high in MALTS, they often are therefore often high in fermentable SUGARS, and therefore tend to by high in ALCOHOL. So maybe your alcohol dilemma can be solved too.
You can usually taste alcohol in imperial beers. Take a sniff of whiskey and then try an imperial... See if you can find the alcohol flavor! It will be an adventure!
Kevin, I recommend The Kaiser by Avery. Jeff, do you disagree?
And to answer your question, I send beer by packing it in bubble wrap and haveing people lug it across the country for me. You could fedex or ups it pretty easily, you'd just have to lie about the package contents. Also, it looks like the beer advocate types trade beer pretty frequently, so maybe you should scan on of there discussion pages for an answer. I'm interested to see how they do it as well.
