IPA Competition 2k11!

...And the winner gets the privilege of being bought in case form, and therefore be enjoyed over a long timespan! Wow! You see, Angela and I have one more Beers of the World Groupon to use, and the Sierra Nevada Celebration case (that we bought last time) was so awesome that we want something that can compete with its greatness at or near the same price point. We have 7 competitors, but who will win?!

1. Harpoon IPA
2. Middle Ages ImPaled Ale
3. Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA
4. Smuttynose Finest Kind IPA
5. Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA
6. Great Lakes Commodore Perry IPA
7. Goose Island India Pale Ale

In the mean time, I'l be writing down Angela quotations from throughout the happenstance.
"I'm going to drink you under the table and kick your boott-cake."
"I thought that I plugged in the the thing but I plugged in the other thing"
"This one makes me feel like a dragon" (@Smuttynose)

Results: We both agreed, Dogfish Head is the winner. Most hop flavor and really well-balanced. HOWEVER, considering that it MAY be above our case price-point, Impaled Ale and Harpoon were tied for the runners up (and both are definitely in the price range). I'm tempted to go local though it may be a few bucks extra. But really, who cares when you're only going to pay about $13 for 24 beers?

Middle Ages! The brewery's brand is fantasy-themed, they're instrumental in creating Braincrushers, and most importantly, they have cats in the tasting room! Harpoon, however, is the runner-up beer of Boston, home of Tommmmmmmmmm Brady. If you buy Harpoon, I will personally open, spit into, and re-seal every bottle.

Where does Green Flash West Coast IPA fit in on the pricing?

It's almost twice as much as a case of Impaled Ale! These days, Green Flash is sold in 4 packs of fancy looking bottles for $11 or $12. That's why I only get it on draft!

That's too bad. I remember it being a lot cheaper than that.

Also, I'm surprised the Torpedo didn't fair better!

Torpedo is my normally my standby! It must be an old six pack or something. Really, I thought it would win.

I was surprised that Torpedo wasn't up there, too! Ben, the Green Flash change happened a few months ago - they claimed that the move from sixers and bombers to four packs wouldn't result in a major price change, but I think the retailers decided otherwise.
